Angel Cap Group + Screampoint

Nashville-based Angel Capital Group has invested an unspecified amount in a recently reopened C-round raise for Screampoint, a data-visualization software and services provider with offices in Menlo Park and abroad, according to a release. ACG CEO Rachael Qualls told VNC that ACG learned of the opportunity through an ACG angel. Screampoint's C-round remains open and will eventually close with about $3.5MM total, she said. This year's Nashville Emerging Leaders Awards (The NELAs) highlighted, among others, two players in Nashville-area startups and growth companies: (L-R) Jennifer LeMieux, SVP-Marketing at Passport Health Communications; and, Rachael Qualls, founder and CEO of Angel Capital Group, a for-profit angel network based in Hendersonville, with staff in Knoxville and a sister network in North Carolina.

Chamber's 'Emerging Leaders' finalists named

The Chamber's Nashville Emerging Leaders Awards finalists have been revealed and the list is here. Things might get awkward at eMids, because in the Tech sector Mike Hollis is competing with his boss/owner, Saurabh Sinha. Other names previously covered by VNC include Justin Lanning of CredenceHealth and Rachael Qualls of Angel Capital Group. Citing a more tenured leader, the group also announced its 2009 Sage Award goes to Pat Collins, president of SESAC, the recording rights company.

Angel Capital Group announces fundings

Angel Capital Group, based in Hendersonville, announced in today's weekly edition of Nashville Business Journal that three firms have obtained investments from angels in ACG or from the closely aligned North Carolina-based Inception MicroAngel fund. ACG CEO Rachael Qualls did not reveal financial details for the transactions, which were apparently the first consummated by ACG, founded in spring 2007. Recipients are: Traklok Corp., in Knoxville, which provides devices for tracking and shipping intermodal containers; Optivia Medical, a North Carolina firm that's commercializing endoscopic technology; and, BugleMe, a Nashville company that allows fans to signup to receive voicemail messages from celebrities.
