FedEx Trade Networks, the FedEx Corp. subsidiary that drives its international ocean and air freight forwarding biz, today announced the appointment of Fred Schardt (left) as president and CEO. Schardt had served the past year or so as EVP-COO to his predecessor, Ed Clark, who retired, effective yesterday. Before joining FedEx Trade in 2008, Schardt spent nearly 30 years with Fritz Companies/UPS Supply Chain Solutions, a sub of UPS, which had acquired Fritz in 2001. Schardt recently blogged about the economy and the growth of FedEx international business.
