Union leader overboard on VW
[Updated Sept. 15] An AFLCIO representative in Chattanooga ended-up retracting his analogy, in which he asserted that Volkswagen's hiring of immigrants in the Chattanooga area should remind folks of VW's use of forced labor during the Nazi years. The TFP reported the story, which now seems to have gone off the media radar. Update: The Times editorial Sept. 15 provides a carefully calibrated take on the union official's ill-advised "smear" of VW.
