HCA Parallon Exec Retires

HCA announced in a July 12 filing that recently appointed Parallon Business Solutions subsidiary President Beverly Wallace is retiring and her successor will be announced, in due course. SEC filing here. HCA Chairman and CEO said in a statement provided VNC through an HCA spokesman, "Beverly has been an integral member of our senior management team for many years and her contributions to the company are many. Most recently she headed up a group that created and launched Parallon Business Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCA. Bev had been contemplating retirement for some time but chose to remain with the company in order to lead the launch of Parallon. With this additional achievement now completed, she has chosen to retire at the end of the year. We are happy for her, offer her our congratulations for such a successful career at HCA and wish her the best in retirement."

HCA IPO effective, trades 10 March

HCA issued a press release this afternoon, saying the company's IPO has gone effective and will begin trading tomorrow, March 10, and should close by March 15 (the Ides?), raising an estimated nearly $3.8bn, with 126.2 million shares priced at $30.

HCA tweaks schema

HCA today announced repositioning executives, probably just ahead of its long-awaited IPO going effective. Chairman and CEO Richard Bracken said CFO Milton Johnson adds the title president of HCA. Beverly Wallace, who was president of a shared-services division, becomes president of a new subsidiary for staffing, revenue-cycle management and supply-chain management services. CMO Jonathan Perlin is now also president of a physicians services unit. Sam Hazen, previously heading the Western division, is now president for HCA Ops, including UK. With an IPO in-the-offing, HCA executives took no analysts' questions following their recitation of 4Q&10 results, during this morning's teleconference. Net income to the parent: $1.2bn, up 14.5% on the year, with A/EBITDA $5.8bn, on 2010 annual revenue of $30.6bn.

HCA substitute S-1 for estimated $4.6BN IPO

In what may be a final cleanup prior to HCA's estimated $4.6bn IPO going effective, HCA filed a fresh S-1 and withdrew its May 2010 filing, saying the move was made in part because of the company's recent reoganization. HCA is a bellwether in many ways, and its offering and the market response, thereto, may yield benchmarks for the sector, with valuation subsequently affecting young ventures looking for capital.
