Tech2020's Navigator Awards

At Tech2020, the annual Navigator awards produced Kudos! for TrakLok, MS Technology and Materials and Chemistry Laboratory. The KNS has it.

Knox County bizplan competition

March 11 is the deadline for entries in the Fairview Technology Center Business Plan competition in Knox County. Details here. The Tech Center is owned by the county and run by a development organization, with assist from Tech2020.

Eastate entrepreneur award winners

Catching-up: We may not previously have posted that The Innovation Valley Technology Council (Tech2020) last fall announced its Navigator Award winners: Radio Systems PetSafe, innovative large company; Genera Energy, innovative small company; Misty Mayes, Management Solutions, outstanding entrepreneur; Oak Ridge Associated Universities, large company community service award; and RecruitWise, small company community service award. In addition, in the related ThrottleUp 2009 event, TrakLok™ Corporation won the business plan pitch competition for seed and early stage companies. TrakLok helps companies globally track intermodal shipping containers.

CEG staffer may launch startup

Shawn Carson, a staff member at the Center for Entrepreneurial Growth within Tech2020 in the Oak Ridge-Knox area, tells the KNS he may convert his program within the nonprofit to a commercial enterprise to help educate and innovate entrepreneurs.
