The U.S. Department of Energy announced Thursday that $37 million in funding from the Recovery Act will be made available to qualified small businesses (under 500 employees) through the Department’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. The
deadline for applications is Sept. 4, at 7 p.m., Central Time. $8.5 million is expected to be available for Phase I awards of up to $150,000 each, to demonstrate clean- and sustainable-energy ideas with commercial potential.
